Machines on the work front

by ~cyril

A modern society,
Pumping out narcotic work machines,
boosting the economy sky high.
Too much work!
problems are fixed with a single pill.
No need to confront your problems,
a single pill will make you numb,
make you dumb,
exactly what they want.
Machines to work for their cause
every pill makes you go deeper,
deeper,
DEEPER.
no turning back, you have gone too far.
Blind to the ways of your leaders that you elected and failed,
now they have you on their leash,
you close your eyes from the truth.

Take another pill,
numb yourself, because you know the truth hurts
pump up the valium, because ignorance is bliss,
The choice to be blind is easier to bear,
than the truth,
that might also blind the viewer,
who is weakened by the lies painted on the wall.
sucked deeper into the bowels of the masters.
Like Oedipus, blinded by his own hands
after he learnt the truth manifested by faith.
Chasing dreams
that are brought forth by the lies
that are rendered by the holder of the leash.
Drinking, the analytical thinking,
the thick and sour poison,
brought to the gullible audiences
by the deceiving leaders, stock breeders.
Popping the pills,
going further to the black hills,
in the illusion of going to Beverly hills,
astray from the right path
until there is no turning back,
turned into the machine that they want.
Sinking,
into numbness...

great poem.
lemme guess nofx fan? ('pump up the valium')
I wrote a piece a while back on the whole 'pill' theme, but didn't post it, so i like the idea. pills to solve all our troubles, to make us cookie-cutter personalities in a cookie-cutter world...
Although it's a good theme, the pill idea is overworked a bit as shinefire said. other than that its great.
Revise it a bit and this will be first and foremost in my favorites. but do revise it.

good over all flow to the poem, but I can't help but hear Manson and Trent in it...

Nice imaginery there fellow poet :) (Smile)
As you did write in your comment to a piece of mine with the title 'Machines', ideas and topics are for everyone's use.

I've wrote a lot of unrequited love so.. :) (Smile) You can blame me for taking on someone else's topic too ;) (Wink)

Anyway, Me suomipojat jyrätään ;) (Wink)

Not bad, I think the pill aspect is overworked a bit. It's not exactly what I'm looking for for the book though. I'll keep my eyes open and see if you submit anything else in the next couple of weeks that might work.
